WALLACE, S.D.–A crash early this (Monday) morning between a semi and pickup in northeastern Clark County has left one person dead.

Clark County Emergency Management Director David Lewis tells KWAT News it happened between 4:00 and 4:30 at the intersection of South Dakota Highways 20 and 25 between Wallace and Bradley.

Lewis says the pickup was westbound on Highway 20 when it collided with the semi, which was northbound on Highway 25.

The female driving the pickup was dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The semi driver sustained minor injuries.

The semi was hauling cattle feed. Lewis says a small amount of that product spilled in the crash.

Northbound traffic on Highway 25 was being detoured around the crash site thru Wallace.

Responding agencies included Clark County Emergency Management, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Clark County Sheriff, and the Bradley and Wallace Fire Departments.
