WATERTOWN, S.D.–More road construction zone signs are coming down this week on the Highway 212 project in Watertown.
South Dakota DOT Engineer Bryce Olson says they’ll get the highway between Highway 81 and 19th Street East opened up this week….
The highway will mostly be open.. but with a few lane closures still….
Some of the work they still need to get done could have been avoided….
Construction work on this $12.8 million project began in April, and Olson says they had some struggles over the summer…
Five lanes of new concrete were poured. There’s new curb and gutter, new storm drains, and street lights too.
Olson says a new sidewalk on the north side of the highway won’t be poured until next spring.
