Codington County Commission approves burn ban (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.—The Codington County Board of Commissioners took action today in response to very dry conditions across the county…

That’s Codington County Emergency Management Director Jamie Torstenson.

He says dry conditions have been gradually getting worse…

There’s particular concern because it’s harvest time…

Torstenson advises against any and all open burning for the time being.

The county commission will review the burn ban each Tuesday at their meeting to determine whether it needs to remain in place.
