FORMAN, N.D.–A man has been charged after a teenage boy was lit on fire in Sargent County in southeastern North Dakota last weekend.

Sheriff Travis Paeper says it happened at a farm shop Saturday night. His department learned of it on Sunday.

Paeper says the 15-year-old victim was at a party when someone sprayed him with brake cleaner and Lance Tyler lit it on fire.

The boy’s sweatshirt caught fire and he ran up a flight of stairs.

Paeper says others at the party helped put out the flames. The boy suffered burns to his face and neck.

Tyler is charged with aggravated assault.

Someone at the party recorded the incident and posted it to social media.
