Casey Collins appointed Superintendent of SDHP

PIERRE, S.D.–Governor Kristi Noem has appointed Captain Casey Collins (pictured) as the new Superintendent of the South Dakota Highway Patrol, effective January 22nd.

Collins assumes the leadership role as Superintendent of the South Dakota Highway Patrol succeeding the retiring Colonel Rick Miller, a Watertown native.

The transfer of command for Capt. Collins will take place at a later date. Collins, who will be promoted to the rank of Colonel at that time, will become the 15th Superintendent in the history of the Highway Patrol, which was established in 1937.

Collins is an accomplished law enforcement professional with 15 years of experience with the Highway Patrol, including service as the District Three Commander in Rapid City.
