BROOKINGS, S.D.–Law enforcement in Brookings is investigating an ATM burglary.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says it happened a little before 2 a.m. Tuesday at a cash machine on Caspian Avenue in Volga.

Sebring says a white SUV was used as a lookout vehicle, and can be seen on surveillance video just prior to the crime.

Authorities say a stolen Ford F-250 pickup was used to damage the ATM, and once damaged, an undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the machine and the suspects left the area.

The stolen pickup was later recovered in Volga.

Sebring says the burglary is likely part of a series of ATM burglaries that have been occurring over the last several months in the area.
