Brookings County Commissioners implement burn ban

WATERTOWN, S.D.–The Brookings County Commissioner met Tuesday and voted to declare a countywide burn ban which prohibits open burning.
The burn ban is effective immediately. If county residents intend to burn, a permit for their local fire chief is required.
The ban does not include burning in fire pits or trash receptacles.
