Arrest made in Roberts County stabbing

WILMOT, S.D.—A Brookings man has been arrested in connection with a weekend stabbing in Roberts County.

Sheriff Barry Hillestad says it happened early Sunday morning when a fight broke out between two men at a home in Wilmot.

The homeowner suffered serious injuries to the torso area from what Hillestad described as a “folding, lock blade knife.”

The suspect was arrested early that morning and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He’s been released from the Roberts County Jail on a surety bond.

Hillestad would not release the names of those involved.
