Zaug’s four hit day powers Post 17 to game two victory over Yankton

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Post 17 would split their games against Yankton Post 12 Tuesday afternoon at Watertown Stadium. 

Watertown would struggle in game one falling 11-7.  Yankton would put down 15 hits in the game.  The purple and gold would commit four errors.  Kade Russell would go four innings on the hill, throw 93 pitches for eight hits, seven runs, walking three, and fanning three.  

Braedon Zaug would have a four-hit day en route to a 12-5 Watertown victory in game two.  Zaug would send three past the plate.  Jerod Cyrus would also have three hits and four RBI’s.  Zach Hirsch would make his first appearance on the hill since May, pitch three innings, 61 pitches for two hits, three runs, four strikeouts and walked two.  Jack Heesch would finish the job throwing 64 pitches in four innings, fanning four, and walked two.  

Watertown (16-12) will travel to Pierre today for two games.  Coach Ryan Neale previews the game:
