Woman sustains life-threatening injuries in Watertown crash

WATERTOWN, S.D.–A woman sustained life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Watertown this (Monday) morning.

Watertown Police Sergeant Ryan Beauchamp says it happened just after 11:30 at the intersection of First Avenue Northeast and Fifth Street. That’s where a pickup and car collided.

The driver of the car, a 58 year-old woman from New Effington, was taken to Prairie Lakes Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A passenger in her car was also taken to the hospital with less severe injuries.

The driver of the pickup, a 61 year-old Watertown man, was not injured.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.

The names of those involved in the crash were not released by police.
