Woman killed in rear-end collision on Interstate 29 in Deuel County

TORONTO, S.D.–One person was killed Friday afternoon in a rear-end collision on Interstate 29 in Deuel County.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a semi pulling a full-sized trailer and pup trailer was northbound on the Interstate when the driver suddenly braked for two dogs running across the highway.
A 60 year-old woman driving a 2013 Mazda Sport that was behind the semi rear-ended the pup trailer.
The driver of the Mazda was dead at the scene.
The 49 year-old man driving the semi was not injured. Both were wearing seat belts.
The names of those involved have not been released. The accident was reported a few minutes past 12 noon at mile marker 150 of I-29—five miles west of Toronto.
