Woman killed in Highway 81 crash south of Freeman

FREEMAN, S.D.–A woman was killed Tuesday morning in a single vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 81, eleven miles south of Freeman.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the woman was southbound, and failed to negotiate a curve in the road, went into the ditch and rolled.

The 21 year-old woman was not wearing a seat belt and was dead at the scene.

Her name has not been released.

The crash was reported just after six o’clock Tuesday morning, but the exact time of the accident is not known.

The Highway Patrol is investigating.
