December 27, 2021

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A winter storm made life in the Dakotas and Minnesota tough this morning.

The storm closed Interstate 94 between Bismarck and Fargo and Interstate 29 from Grand Forks to the North Dakota-South Dakota border. Interstate 29 from Grand Forks to the Canada border also was closed but had reopened by 7 a.m.

Authorities advised people not to travel across much of North Dakota.

Snow totals in the Twin Cities were in the 2-3 inch range. Little Falls reported 5 inches and Grand Marias, along the north shore, reported 13 inches.

Winter Weather Advisories were posted for northeastern South Dakota due to blowing snow.
