WFR responds to apartment building fire

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown Fire Rescue was called to an apartment building fire at 15 3rd Street Southeast just after one o’clock this (Monday) morning.
When fire crews got there, they were met by residents exiting the building, and there were reports of smoke on the second floor.
Crews were able to quickly determine the fire was in apartment 204 and made entry to find no occupants but a room full of furniture.
Crews quickly extinguished a couple of couches and a mattress that were on fire.
The cause is under investigation but believed to be accidental in nature. No injuries were reported and crews were on scene for two hours.
