WATERTOWN, S.D.–A couple of inches of fresh snow was enough to create slippery travel conditions in the Watertown area on Thursday, and it led to three accidents.

Watertown Fire Rescue was called to mile marker 180 on Interstate 29 just before 5:00 p.m. It was a single vehicle rollover, with 76 year-old Galen Hinton of Eureka being ejected from the Jeep Wrangler he was driving. Hinton was taken to Prairie Lakes Hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.

There were two additional rollovers between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m.. The first was in the area of 33rd Street Southwest and Highway 212. The driver was able to escape the wreckage on their own, and did not require a trip to the hospital.

At 7:00 p.m., another rollover at 3400 4th Avenue Southwest. That driver was not transported to the hospital either.
