Tornado in central Minnesota prompts warning from National Weather Service

WILLMAR, Minn.–Minnesota saw its first severe weather outbreak of the season over the weekend.

The National Weather Service in Chanhassen issued a tornado warning for Kandiyohi County after a confirmed tornado was spotted south of Prinsburg just before 6:30 Saturday evening.

The twister was moving northeast at 25 mph. There were no immediate reports of damage.

The storm dissipated below severe levels, but dropped heavy rain in Kandiyohi and Meeker counties.
