WBB: Timmer sets new high in Jackrabbit WNIT win

BROOKINGS, S.D. (GoJacks.com) — South Dakota State led wire-to-wire in a dominant 87-57 win over Ohio to open WNIT action Thursday night at Frost Arena. Haleigh Timmer had a career night for the Jacks, pouring in 24 points to lead all players.

Timmer’s scoring output came on 8-for-11 shooting from the floor with a 4-for-5 effort from beyond the arc. The freshman grabbed eight rebounds, also a personal best, to go with three assists.

Timmer was joined in double figures Paiton Burckhard (16), Tori Nelson (15), Kallie Theisen (10) and Myah Selland (10).

The Jackrabbits advance to the second round of the WNIT and will host Minnesota Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
