WBB: Jacks commit costly turnovers in loss to Missouri State

BROOKINGS, S.D. (GoJacks.com) — The South Dakota State women’s basketball team slipped to 3-6 on the season Monday night with a 55-52 loss to Missouri State at Frost Arena.

Kallie Theisen posted her first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, both season highs. She also tallied four of the team’s nine total blocks on the night, a career best for the sophomore.

Tylee Irwin and Paiton Burckhard also put up 11 points apiece. Irwin matched her career-high steal total with four and Burckhard chipped in six boards. Freshman Paige Meyer dished out five assists.

The Jackrabbits had their second best shooting performance of the year, shooting 48 percent from the field, but were held to a season-low 42 attempts. SDSU committed 25 turnovers in the loss, the most of the season, which resulted in 27 points for the Bears.

Mariah White came off the bench to score 17 points for Missouri State. Jasmine Franklin, who averages a double-double for the Bears, scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds to go with four blocked shots.

The Jackrabbits will host Kansas State at 2 p.m. at Frost Arena on Saturday, December 11th.
