WBB: Jackrabbits drop road game at Creighton

OMAHA, Neb. (GoJacks.com) — South Dakota State women’s basketball dropped a 67-55 road game at Creighton Sunday night inside D.J. Sokol Arena.

Paige Meyer paced the Jacks with 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists on the night, all team highs. Tylee Irwin chipped in 10 points. Burckhard and Haleigh Timmer added eight points and six rebounds apiece.

Emma Ronsiek had 18 points and nine rebounds for the Bluejays.

The teams posted almost identical shooting percentages. State was 25-of-61 from the floor (41 percent) and Creighton was 26-for-60 (43 percent). The difference came from the 3-point line, where SDSU hit just two from long range and the Bluejays sank seven. Creighton also added eight points from the free throw line and South Dakota State had three.

SDSU will play Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Florida. The Jacks’ first game is 10 a.m. CT Thursday against UMass.
