WATERTOWN, S.D.—When the new school year begins in Watertown next month, it will mark the return of in-class learning.

Superintendent Dr. Jeff Danielsen issued a news release Friday on Watertown’s “Return To School” plans.

Danielsen says the school district will not require students to wear masks, but highly recommends them.

Staff will be required to wear a mask in close student contact situations, common areas such as hallways, but not when in front of the classroom teaching.

More information can be found on the Watertown School District’s website on the coronavirus page.

The first day of school in Watertown is August 27th.
