WATERTOWN, S.D.–Construction work continues on the Crossings Plaza development in Watertown. That’s the former Shopko building at the corner of Highways 81 and 212.

Owner and developer Brian Brandriet tells KWAT ‘s Mike Tanner when the redevelopment is finished, a total of seven tenants will be able to occupy all the space….

Brandreit would not identify the anchor tenant that will occupy the west end of the building, but he’s happy to have them…

He says that anchor tenant won’t be ready to occupy the space until next spring.

Brandriet says finding tenants to move into new retail space during a pandemic has been a challenge…

He says the leased space on the south side of the building where Studio 212 is located will be a popular spot for weddings, concerts and corporate parties….

Brandriet purchased the property in early 2020 after the Shopko chain of stores went out of business.

Tenants interested in leasing space there can call Brandriet at 605-881-8825.
