WATERTOWN, S.D.–A Watertown woman charged with attempting to kill her husband has reached a plea deal with prosecutors.

Sixty five year-old Sherri Tormanen was charged after shooting Randy Tormanen in the face during an argument at a Watertown residence in the 10-block of Third Street Southwest on August 4th.

Police and paramedics arrived to find the victim suffering from, “serious, life-threatening injuries.”

Codington County State’s Attorney Becky Morlock-Reeves tells KWAT News that during a court appearance this week, Sherri Tormanen pleaded guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

In exchange for that plea, charges of First-Degree Attempted Murder, Commission of a Felony While Armed and Possessing a Firearm While Intoxicated were dismissed.

Tormanen will be sentenced December 22nd.

Randy Tormanen is no longer hospitalized.
