Watertown to see two commercial airlines beginning next month

WATERTOWN, S.D.–There’s an old saying that competition is typically good for the consumer, and that seems to be the case at Watertown Regional Airport, which will have two commercial airlines competing against each other starting next month.

Airport Manager Todd Syhre (sye-ree) says with Denver Air Connection joining United Express in Watertown, air fares have been going down…

And Denver Air Connection has announced one-way fares to those two cities as low as 59-dollars.

Syhre says right now, they’re preparing for two airlines at the airport by doing some construction in the terminal….

The airline industry is bouncing back from the pandemic. Syhre says United Express is reporting over 3,100 advance bookings out of Watertown in July….
