Watertown suspends mass vaccine events for first doses

WATERTOWN, S.D. –-South Dakota residents who would like to receive a COVID vaccine in Watertown are encouraged to contact their primary care provider or a local pharmacy. Watertown pharmacies offering COVID vaccines include HyVee, Walgreens, and WalMart.

The South Dakota Department of Health determined South Dakotans ages 16 and older may receive a vaccine. To receive the Moderna vaccine you must be at least 18 years old.

Prairie Lakes Healthcare System in collaboration with the Watertown Area COVID-19 Community Task Force and community partners have decided to suspend mass vaccination events for first doses going forward.

Those who received their first dose at a mass vaccination event should plan to receive their second dose as already scheduled at the Codington County Extension Complex.
