Watertown strands 13 on base in 9-5 loss to Fargo 400

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown would strand 13 baserunners in a 9-5 loss to Fargo Post 400 Monday night at Watertown Stadium.  The game was a one 9-inning affair.

The purple and gold would get out early scoring four runs in the first and a solo run in the third but fail to score after the third.  Fargo however, would knock down 15 hits in the game.  Watertown would provide some great defense:

Jack Heesch, Trevon Rawdon, and Braedon Zaug would each have a two-hit night.  Ben Althoff, Easton Thury, and Connor Hanson would each collect one RBI.

Andrew Czech would go four-innings on the hill, throwing 79 pitches for seven hits, five runs, one walk, and struck out two.  Kade Russell would pitch five innings in relief striking out six, walking two on eight hits, four runs, and 93 pitches.
