Watertown splits with Marshall in a tale of two games

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Post 17 would split their games at home versus Marshall, Minnesota Tuesday night in a tale of two different games.

Game one would be a 12-7 win for the purple and gold.  Jerod Cyrus would lead the charge with three hits and two RBI’s in the game.  Dawson Schmidt and Kale Stevenson would contribute one hit and two RBI’s each.  Watertown would drop 11 hits in total.  Zach Hirsch would go six and one-third innings, for 103 pitches, seven hits, seven runs, five strikeouts, and four walks.

Game two would swing the direction of Marshall as they would earn a 10-3 victory.  Evan Falconer would drop down two hits and one RBI.  Braxton Lacher and Cael Sutton would each have one hit and one RBI.  Kade Russell would pitch three innings for five hits, seven runs, one strikeout, and two walks.  Watertown would go to the bullpen three times as Dawson Schmidt and Jayden Cordell would each pitch one inning and Cole McElhany would pitch the final two innings.  Watertown would commit four errors in the game.
