Watertown splits against Rushmore during Stick It To Cancer Weekend

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) – Watertown Laker boys would fall twice against Rushmore during to Stick It To Cancer Weekend at the Maas Ice Arena.
The Laker guys would fall to Rushmore on Friday 8-1. Watertown’s lone goal came from Austin Green in the third. The Lakers were outshot in the contest 45-16.
Rushmore would come back on Sunday with a three-goal third to defeat Watertown 5-4. Thomas Foley would lead the attack with two goals, Dakota Woertink added one and Austin McBride put one through the net and added an assist. Owen McBride stopped 69 of 74 shots on goal.
The Laker girls would come away with two wins this weekend at home also against Rushmore.
Watertown would down the Thunder 3-1 on Saturday. Jayda Kranz, Meg Sunde, and Jaclyn Lloyd each slapped one through. Kranz, Lloyd, and Rachel Skott each notched an assist. Angelyn Birnell stopped 11 of 12 shots on goal.
The Laker girls would win a close one against Rushmore on Sunday, 5-4. Lloyd would lead the charge with a four-goal afternoon and notch one assist. Kranz added one goal and three assists. Janel Lloyd notched two assists.
The Laker girls and guys hit the road to Oahe next Saturday.
