Watertown senior and junior legion gear up for super regional play

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) – Class A Super Regional play begins today across South Dakota.

Watertown earned a 12 seed and will travel to the five seed Sioux Falls East. Post 17 will enter the super regionals on a hot streak with a 7-4 record in the month of July. Coach Ryan Neale says the team is starting to peak at the right time:

Watertown fell to their super regional opponent Sioux Falls East twice back on June 8th. Coach Neale previews the second go around:

Game time 4 p.m. from Harmodon Park in Sioux Falls. Game two will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday. If a game three is needed, it will be 30 minutes following game two. Winner will move on to the Class A Senior Legion Tournament July 27th through the 30th in Rapid City. Brent Nathaniel will have coverage on New Country KS93 and GoWatertown.net.

Junior Legion also begins super regional play today. Watertown JL (31-13) drew the three seed and will host the 13 seed Yankton at 6 p.m. tonight in the best of three series at Watertown Stadium. Game two will be at 1 p.m. Saturday. If a game three is needed, it will be 30 minutes following game two. Winner will move on the Class A Junior Legion Tournament July 28 – 30 in Sioux Falls.
