Watertown School District confirms death of student

WATERTOWN, S.D.–The Watertown School District issued a news release Tuesday confirming the death of one of its students.
Superintendent Dr. Jeff Danielsen says school counselors and community mental health representatives were being made available to students who wished to discuss the death of 13 year-old Aaliyah Wanna. She was an 8th grader at Watertown Middle School.
Danielsen says the school district confirmed the girl’s death with her family and the Watertown Police Department.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
