WATERTOWN, S.D.–The Watertown Salvation Army looks like it will surpass its red kettle campaign goal of raising $80,000 this Christmas season.
Commander Dennis Jolly says the kettles were out thru December 23rd, and they collected $79,919.
However, counter kettles are still out at various businesses in the community, and will be for a few more weeks, which will push the organization over the $80,000 goal.
A special fundraising day was largely responsible. On December 20th, First Premier Bank and Premier Bankcard matched every $20 bill dropped into a red kettle with a $20 match, as did Trav’s Outfitter of Watertown.
Jolly says on December 20th alone, $10,920 was raised.
