WATERTOWN, S.D.–It was a successful holiday fundraising campaign for the Watertown Salvation Army.

Captain Dennis Jolly (pictured with wife Kelly) tells KWAT News that as of January 3rd, they raised $195,602, which exceeded their goal of $167,000.

Of the money raised, $70,507 was put into the Salvation Army’s red kettles, which were stationed outside a number of Watertown businesses in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Jolly says the red kettle goal was $80,000.

Jolly says donations are still trickling in by mail, so the fundraising totals will continue to increase.

The money is used to support Salvation Army programs throughout the year.
