WATERTOWN, S.D.–March was a very good month at Watertown Regional Airport. In fact, it’s the best one they’ve had since the pandemic began more than a year ago.

Airport Manager Todd Syhre tells KWAT News there were 648 passengers who boarded flights out of Watertown last month.

It reflects what’s happening nationally–more people flying as the country’s vaccination rates increase.

Syhre added that an announcement could be coming soon on a restaurant that would lease space in the new airport terminal that’s under construction.

The new terminal will open in early 2022.

Watertown Regional Airport is served by SkyWest Airlines, which provides non-stop jet service to Chicago and Denver on 50-seat United Express jets.
