WATERTOWN, S.D.—Passenger traffic at Watertown Regional Airport is not back to pre-pandemic levels yet, but business is trending in the right direction….

That’s Airport Manager Todd Syhre, who spoke to the Airport Board at their monthly meeting Monday.

Syhre says one reason for the uptick in business is the return of non-stop flights to Chicago. That route was suspended by SkyWest Airlines during the pandemic, but resumed on July 6th….

The Airport Board heard from airline consultant Gary Foss of the ArkStar Group, who updated the board on one month marketing campaign that began June 22nd.

Foss says the campaign is targeting two demographics….

Foss says the marketing campaign has two distinct elements to it…

The marketing campaign runs through July 20th, mainly through social media platforms, and is targeting 117 zip codes within a 90 minute drive of Watertown.
