Watertown Radio Sports selected for two Eric Sevareid awards

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Radio is the recipient of two Eric Sevareid Awards from the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association for excellence in sports play-by-play and reporting.

Brent Nathaniel was selected for an Award of Merit in Small Market Sports Play-By-Play for his call of the 2020 Class 9AA football championship game, Hamlin vs Platte-Geddes.  Nathaniel was also received an Award of Merit in Small Market Sports Reporting for the story, “De Smet Dreams Of B Title Ended By Pandemic.”

The Eric Sevareid award winner winners are selected from a six-state region and were announced online this week during a virtual Midwest Journalism Conference. The Midwest Broadcast Journalist Association will present plaques to winners this October during an in-person Midwest Journalism Conference in Bloomington, Minnesota.
