FARGO, N.D. (GoWatertown.net) — It’s opening weekend for Watertown Post 17 as they travel to Fargo for a weekend series with Post 400.

Watertown finished 2021 with a record of 30-31 and was bounced from the State A Tournament on a walk-off home run by Pierre in the second round.

Post 17 will look younger this season with some new faces competing for playing time.  You will also see a mix of returning players.  Watertown Post 17 Coach Ryan Neale:

The purple and gold will carry 19 players on the roster into the season which is more than years past.  Coach Neale says that’s a lot to do with the young talent:

The weather has been a factor this spring limiting outside practice time.  So how many times have they been outside to practice?

The weather looks to be a factor again this weekend at Fargo Post 400.  The tentative schedule for Saturday and Sunday is junior legion games at noon, followed by senior legion.  Post 17 have added a game at home against Fargo 400 next Friday with the junior legion team playing at 4:30, followed by senior legion at 7 p.m.
