Watertown Post 17 goes 2-2 over the weekend

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Post 17 would go 2-2 over the weekend.

Post 17 would defeat Aberdeen twice on Friday.  Game one would be a 22-11 victory.  Kale Stevenson would lead the charge with two hits and four RBI’s.  Jerod Cyrus would send in three RBI’s  Evan Falconer would drop three hits and two RBI’s.  Post 17 would collect 16 hits in the game.  Lexan Thorson would pitch five innings, 95 pitches, nine hits, seven runs, five strikeouts and three walks.  Jayden Cordell would throw two innings in relief.

Game two would be a 13-0 win for the purple and gold in a five-inning affair.  Mason Morris, Jayden Cordell and Cael Sutton would each collect two RBI’s.  Evan Falconer, Dawson Schmidt, Peyton Johnston, and Mason Lloyd would each have one RBI.   Post 17 would drop 10 hits in the game.  Easton Thury would pitch the complete game going all five innings, 74 pitches, two hits, five strikeouts and one walk

Sunday would go the other direction as the defending national legion runner up Fargo Post 2 would ten-run rule Watertown Post 17 twice.  Game one 10-0 and game two 11-1.   Watertown would only amass 7 hits total on Sunday.

Watertown Post 17 (26-12) wraps up their regular season this week.  Sioux Falls West comes to Watertown Stadium on Wednesday for a 5 and 7 p.m. first pitch.  West Fargo comes to town again on Thursday at 4 and 6 p.m.  Both nights of games will be broadcast on The Talk of Watertown, 1480 KSDR and GoWatertown.net/Post17 .
