WATERTOWN, S.D.–One person was transported to Prairie Lakes Hospital following a two vehicle crash in Watertown this morning.

It happened just after 7:30 at 8th Avenue and 4th Street Northeast where two vehicles collided.

A Ford Escape driven by a 50 year-old Watertown woman was southbound on 4th Street in the outside lane of traffic, and was in the process of pulling over to yield to oncoming emergency vehicles that were actively responding to a fire alarm call.

That’s when the woman was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by 31 year-old Dennis Jolly of Watertown.

The female driver was transported to Prairie Lakes Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Her name was not released.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene.

Jolly was cited for Careless Driving.
