Watertown police make arrest following reports of gunshots in the city

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown police were dispatched to the 500-block of First Avenue Northwest Thursday afternoon on a report of a man shooting a gun.
Officers arrived and made contact with 31 year-old John Harms of Watertown, and determined the gun was a pellet gun.
During their investigation, officers searched Harms’ vehicle and found meth residue and marijuana.
Harms was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana (Less Than Two Ounces), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
A search of Harms’ residence turned up an additional firearm.
Harms is currently on probation.
Charges have been referred to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
