WATERTOWN, S.D.—Watertown police are seeking the public’s help in solving several reports of catalytic converters that have been cut off pickups and large trucks.

Captain Steve Rehorst says there have been a number of these incidents that have occurred over the past 30 days.

In each instance, the vehicles were parked in, “out of the way areas that were not well lit.”

Rehorst says it appears the people involved are using a battery-operated reciprocating saw to cut the catalytic converters from the vehicles exhaust system quickly.

A cash reward is being offered for the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Anyone with information is asked to call Watertown police.
