Watertown police arrest man after gunshot fired during struggle

WATERTOWN, S.D.—Watertown police arrested a man early Saturday after they were called to a report early Saturday morning of two men fighting over a gun.
Officers were dispatched to the 10-block of North Maple a little before 3 a.m.
Whey they got there, they heard a gunshot.
Their investigation revealed that 49 year-old Dean Killyan of Bryant assaulted the victim, which caused the victim to retrieve a firearm.
Killyan and the victim then continued an altercation over the firearm, which discharged during their struggle.
Killyan was booked into the Codington County Detention Center on a charge of simple assault.
The other man involved in the altercation was not identified.
