Watertown police alert public of utilities scam

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown police are alerting the public of a scam that has resurfaced in the area recently.

Scammers are calling people telling them they have a past-due utility bill, and their utilities services will be disconnected if they don’t pay up.

Police say Municipal Utilities will not contact you via telephone to take a payment over the phone.
