WATERTOWN, S.D.–The city of Watertown has not issued a, “snow alert” yet this season.
That happens when two or more inches of snow falls. Then plows go to work citywide clearing snow from streets.
That’s likely to change this week, as several inches of snow are forecast to fall.
Watertown Police Sergeant Ryan Beauchamp says they want cars off the streets so snow plows can more easily do their work. If a vehicle is in the way, it’ll get ticketed and could get towed….
People can sign up for snow alerts by going to the city website to register…
When snow alerts have been issued, highways and snow emergency routes are the first to get plowed.
Streets are plowed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and Avenues are cleared on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Beauchamp says it’s also important to remember to clear your sidewalks within 24 hours of any snow event.
