WATERTOWN, S.D.—A grand opening celebration was held at Watertown’s newest hotel Tuesday.

My Place Hotel opened last month, featuring 63 rooms on four floors.

The Aberdeen-based hotel chain has seen tremendous growth in recent months. They now have 52 hotels open in 23 states, with more growth planned in the months and years ahead.

Rivett’s grandfather, Ron Rivett, founded the Super 8 hotel chain in Aberdeen in the early 1970’s.

My Place brands itself as an extended stay hotel. Each room features a kitchen with a two-burner cooktop, full-sized refrigerator and microwave oven.

The Watertown hotel is located at 3409 8th Avenue Southeast. It’s the sixth My Place Hotel to open in South Dakota.
