WATERTOWN, S.D.–2021 utility rates for city of Watertown residents were set today…

That’s Watertown Municipal Utilities Director of Administration Adam Karst.

He says that will mean a slightly higher utility bill next year for the average residential customer who uses about 5,000 gallons of water a month…

Karst was asked why they were able to hold the line on electric and natural gas rates…..

And the reason for increasing water rates???

The new water rates take effect with first-of-the-year readings in January that will show up on February billings.

The Utilities Board also approved the 2021 operating budget Monday. It calls for operating revenues of $47.8 million.
