Watertown man seriously injured in head-on crash

WATERTOWN, S.D.–A Watertown man was seriously injured in a head on crash in the city Friday morning.

Police Sergeant Ryan Beauchamp says it happened just before noon in the 200 block of 20th Avenue Southeast.

A 2004 Dodge Ramp pickup driven by 49 year-old Michael Schwartz of Watertown was eastbound and a 2003 Cadillac Deville driven by 37 year-old Tyler Hall of Watertown was  westbound.

Hall’s car traveled into the eastbound lane, hitting the pickup head on.

Hall was taken to Prairie Lakes Hospital with serious, non life-threatening injuries.

Hall is charged with DUI 2nd Offense, (Inhalants) Driving with a Revoked License, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, Failure to use Seatbelts, and Unsafe Lane Change.

Watertown Fire Rescue and the Codington County Sheriff’s Office assisted Watertown police on the call.
