ABERDEEN, S.D.–A Watertown man has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for abusive sexual contact.

Thirty seven year-old Deserick Bird was sentenced this week in Aberdeen.

South Dakota U.S. Attorney Alison Ramsdell says over a three year period, Bird sexually assaulted a young girl.

A second victim reported that Bird had sexually assaulted her when she was 14 years old.

Bird pleaded guilty to the charges in August of this year.

He’ll be on supervised release for 10 years after he serves prison time.
