Watertown man injured in accidental, self-inflicted shooting

WATERTOWN, S.D.–A Watertown man was injured Wednesday afternoon in an accidental shooting.
Authorities were called a little before 3:00 p.m. to the area of 168th Street and Sioux Conifer Road on a report of a man with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Codington County deputies arrived to find the man, 62 year-old Ronald Gasper of Watertown, lying on the ground near his pickup.
Deputies provided medical aid until Watertown Fire Rescue paramedics got there.
Gasper was taken to Prairie Lakes Hospital.
An investigation showed the gunshot wound was accidental and self-inflicted by Gasper while he was target shooting.
He’s expected to make a full recovery.
