Watertown looking for ideas on new downtown plaza (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Behind the scenes work is underway on what a new plaza in downtown Watertown will look like.
The plaza will include a park, and will be located just east of the Watertown Area Community Foundation office along Kemp Avenue.

The mayor says residents have until Thursday to fill out an online survey with their thoughts…
Caron says there are a few common themes in what people would like to see in this new plaza…
Once completed, Caron says the plaza will give Watertown a central gathering place for outdoor events…
Caron says groundbreaking on the plaza will occur in 2021.
The Watertown Area Community Foundation has donated $500,000 toward the cost of the project.
