WATERTOWN, S.D.–The Watertown City Council is sticking with a local architectual firm to work on the design renovation of a new City Hall.
The council voted unanimously Tuesday night to authorize Mayor Sarah Caron to sign a contract with TSP Incorporated of Watertown for renovation design work on the former Wells Fargo Bank building in downtown Watertown.
Late last year, the council approved the purchase of the building for $1.3 million. Estimates show renovating the building into a new City Hall will cost nearly $2.5 million more.
Councilman Glen Vilhauer says there’s been some misunderstanding along the way on this project, but he feels it remains a good deal for the city…
The contract with TSP that was approved Tuesday night was for just over $203,000.
