Watertown Fire Rescue responds to reports of storm damage around Lake Kampeska

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Severe storms caused damage on Watertown’s west side Monday night.

Watertown Fire Rescue was called to the area around Lake Kampeska. A home in the 800-block of 43rd Street Northwest had damage to the roof, and they found power lines down and arcing in the area of 132 North Lake Drive.

They found numerous downed tree limbs littering the roads on their way to the calls.

Watertown Regional Airport reported a peak wind gust of 67 miles per hour.

One inch hail was reported seven miles southeast of Webster, and Pierre reported 79 miles per hour winds that damaged trees and power lines, and also caused some roof damage to buildings.
